Amsterdam International Community School (AICS)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident, customer-focused individual with proven HR experience to join the AICS (1.0 FTE). The position will offer support cross campus (South-Main, South-East and Satellite).
A key component of your role is providing all members of staff with an exceptional HR service throughout the employee lifecycle. You deliver and develop day-to-day HR support including employee and leadership advisory, recruitment, employee relations, payroll, (benefits) administration, provision of HR metrics and promoting staff wellbeing initiatives. You play a key role in optimizing our people & culture processes.
Who are you?
You are people-orientated, intrinsically motivated, flexible, tactful and approachable with an ability to build good working relationships with colleagues at all levels at the AICS. You are able to advise on HR matters as well as provide hands-on HR related administrative support.
You are well aware that HR is always in development and you embrace the challenge to continuously improve our processes matching the growth of our school. Change excites you and you have the confidence to play a role in the further development of our HR policies.
You need to:
have at least 2 years of generalist HR experience;
have a relevant degree;
have an understanding of the relevant Dutch laws, regulations and preferably CAO knowledge;
have confidence to inform and support employees and the leadership team;
have excellent communication skills and ability to function well within a team;
be flexible, open to new ideas and able to take initiative;
have the ability to multitask, prioritise & stay calm under pressure;
have the ability to maintain confidentiality & handle sensitive information appropriately;
have a commitment to the school’s mission to provide community-based international learning;
have experience of working in a fast-paced environment and have an understanding and knowledge of different cultural backgrounds;
be confident to operate in (HR) systems;
have excellent excel skills;
be fluent in English and Dutch.

AICS offers a full-time contract, starting asap, a permanent contract in the future belongs to the possibilities;
Pay scale 8 (min. 2.294,- max. 3.467,- based on full-time per month, before tax) and a year-end and holiday bonus of 8%;

About the AICS
The AICS is the only Dutch International Primary and Secondary School in Amsterdam. We are affiliated with the Berlage Lyceum and the Europaschool in Amsterdam, which, together with a number of other schools, form the ’’Esprit Scholen Amsterdam’. The school is subsidized by the Dutch government, which enables us to deliver high quality education at competitive fees. The AICS is a school for international education that is accredited by the Council of International Schools and focuses on children from international backgrounds. Currently the school offers primary education to students aged 4“ 10 and secondary education to students aged 11“ 19. The main language of instruction for classes is English. Since the start of the school in 2003, the AICS has grown to a total of over 1,700 students divided over three campus locations (AICS South (Main), AICS Satellite and AICS South-East) and will continue to grow over the next few years.
