Your job as Labour Relations Lead

As Labour Relations Lead, you drive the delivery of the Business Change strategy in the Netherlands that creates a positive environment to manage organizational change and reduce the risk of employment related litigation. You ensure the Dutch organization implements business changes in timely manner, while adhering to relevant legislation, and maintaining and further improving relations with social partners and internal stakeholders. Your main responsibilities in the role of Labour Relations Lead are:

Define and execute the Industrial Relations and Business Change strategy in the Netherlands.
Lead the Employee Relations elements of critical business change projects.
Leads representative forums with a view to securing employee engagement and legal compliance.
Organization and follow up of labour relations within the Netherlands.
Leads in informing the representative trade unions on company projects regarding to social law.
Define a communication and negotiation strategy, to facilitate the trade unions and works councils and the employees’ acceptation of change.
Leads meetings with the trade unions and works councils and negotiate in order to reach an agreement.
Drafts company agreements for the negotiations with the trade unions and works councils working with relevant stakeholders such as Legal and/or ER team.
Ensure good governance of agreements reached and communicate with the trade unions and works councils on operations’ progress.
Communicate within the company on the impact regarding to labour law changes or on the collective labour agreement.
Draft proposals to implement social developments or changes to legislation into company policies, compliant with the company’s strategy, its collective labour agreement and labour law.
Process proceedings relative to commercial and tribunal disputes, mass dismissals, working with/notifying Legal as necessary.
Ensure the company processes, particularly those linked to projects concerning change, with social law implications: relocation/outsourcing, merger & acquisitions, restructuring, social plan, employment contracts.

Your personal qualifications as Labour Relations Lead

Master’s degree in (Labour) Law.
Similar experience of at least 10 years within an international company.
Extensive knowledge of Dutch legislative consultation framework and using this to respond to legal issues.
Experience of working with regulatory bodies / works councils/trade unions.
Experience of developing ER strategic and tactical plans through to delivery.
Knowledge and strong understanding of and ability to comply with industry laws and regulations.
Ability to build credibility with line management and understand the commercial/financial implications and business impact of alternative HR solutions.
Experience of operating across different countries and cultures with diverse populations.
Experience of managing cultural sensitivity when leading and managing change in various environment, cultures and organizations.

As Labour Relations Lead, you have excellent organizational and communication skills, coupled with ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you are fluent in both English and Dutch.
